If you've ever wondered whether family photos with a two-year-old are worth it, the answer is always yes.
This sweet family met me at the Indiana Dunes National Park in Chesterton, Indiana, for a morning beach session. Like most toddlers, their little guy had his own ideas about how the session should go. We followed his lead, took breaks when we needed to, and found plenty of opportunities to capture this season just as it is.
Some of my favorite moments came from the in-between moments: mom and dad scooping him up into the air, giggles during tickle fights with their daughter, sandy little toes, and throwing rocks into Lake Michigan. Those are often the memories parents want to remember most.
After receiving their gallery, Chelsea shared these kind words:
"Erika captured our family photos and went above and beyond our expectations. She is a mom herself and was so patient and flexible with our kids. We are obsessed with these photos and can’t thank her enough! Highly recommend."
As a family photographer serving Chesterton, Valparaiso, and Northwest Indiana, I know that young children don't need to perform for beautiful photos to happen. My goal isn't perfect behavior; it's creating space for your family to interact naturally while I document the connection that's already there.
If you're planning family photos at the Indiana Dunes National Park or looking for a beach photographer, I'd love to help you capture your family in a way that feels genuine, relaxed, and true to this season of life.
